When am I covered?

Your payments or outstanding balances are canceled in the event of death, disability or involuntary unemployment, as follows:

  • Death: cancels card balance as of date of death, up to $75,000
  • Disability: cancels your minimum monthly payment, for up to 12 months, up to $1,000 per month, $15,000 maximum
  • Involuntary Unemployment: cancels your minimum monthly payments for up to 3 months, up to $1,000 per month, $15,000 maximum

Applicant must meet the following conditions:

(1) You are under age 70;
(2) If applying for Death or Disability protection: during the last 2 years, you have not been advised of or treated for: cancer, heart attack or coronary artery disease, stroke, cirrhosis, AIDS, or had a positive HIV test;
(3) If applying for Disability or Involuntary Unemployment protection: you are presently working twenty-four (24) or more hours per week;
(4) If applying for Involuntary Unemployment: you are not self-employed, and have not received unemployment benefits within the past 2 years.
Your purchase of debt protection is optional. Whether or not you purchase Debt Protection will not affect your application for credit or the terms of any existing credit agreement you have with us. We will give you additional information before you are required to pay for the program. This information will include a copy of the contract containing the terms and conditions of the program. There are eligibility requirements, conditions and exclusions that could prevent you from receiving benefits under the program. Carefully read the contract for a full explanation of the terms and conditional of the program. After you enroll, you will receive a Debt Protection Program Agreement; please read carefully for a full explanation of the terms and conditions of the plan. The cost is disclosed in the table above. You may cancel at any time. If you do so within 30 days of your enrollment, we will credit your account for any Plan fees paid. The Plan can also be terminated if your account is paid off and closed; if you exhaust the benefits under the Plan; if your Plan fees are past due or your account payments are past due 90 days or more; if we discontinue the Plan for any reason; or if the plan auto-cancels due to being past due more than 90 days, the borrower is required to re-enroll in the Plan.
