Mastercard® Conversion

At Cinfed, we constantly evaluate our programs to continue offering the best products and services for our members. In assessing credit card providers, we believe Mastercard will serve you better by providing additional benefits that you can use every day. 

As soon as you activate your new card, you can gain immediate access to features like Identity Theft Resolution Services, Mastercard Global Service™, Mastercard Airport Concierge™, Price Protection, Extended Warranty, Mastercard Priceless® Cities and MasterRental Insurance. 

No. The interest rates and other credit card terms outlined in your Cardholder Agreement will remain unchanged. 

Yes. Your payment due date and billing cycle will be the same as your previous card. 

To help ensure security, we encourage you to activate your card as soon as you receive it. So when the card arrives, simply:
1.    Call the number on the enclosed letter to activate it
2.    Sign the back
3.    Destroy your old card

You will need to update your account information with any business that currently makes automatic charges to your credit card. Notify them with your new Mastercard number as soon as possible to ensure the charges go to the proper account and that you receive credit for payment. 

No. For security purposes, you will receive a new Personal Identification Number (PIN) in a separate letter from Mastercard. 

Yes. Cards for each authorized user will be mailed to the primary accountholder at the address listed on the account. When you call to activate your card, the additional cards will also be ready to use. 

No. Your CURewards points will carry over to your new card.

Nothing should change. Your credit card account will still be reported as current.

Yes. You should not notice any changes in managing your online accounts.

Yes. You will be able to access previous statements through your online account. The look and feel of the statement will remain the same as it is today.

Date Procedure
5/1 New Mastercard credit cards begin to be mailed; cards will arrive within 7-10 days; Visa cards can still be used for purchases.
5/16 New credit card distribution completed. Activate and begin using your new card. Please contact all merchants who use your credit card for automatic charges to update your billing information with your new Mastercard to avoid interruptions in services you may have with them.
5/18 Personal Identification Number (PIN) letters distribution completed
5/25 Your Visa card will be deactivated and can no longer be used for purchases.
