This fall, Cinfed will be celebrating with Habitat for Humanity as the organization completes its 600th home in the Cincinnati area. We're proud to partner with the folks from Habitat and the contributions they make to improve our community.
The idea of “community” is central to what we do at Cinfed – in fact, we’re officially a “Community Chartered Federal Credit Union.” That keeps our focus on providing financial services to people where they live, work, worship and raise their families. In our role as a mortgage lender, we help achieve the dream of home ownership. Studies show that home ownership brings many benefits:
For the community
it means stability and economic development, in the form of regular customers for local businesses. The National Association of Realtors estimates that for every two home sales, one new job is supported.
For the individual
Homeowners are more likely to be involved in civic events, vote and do volunteer work - attributable to the increased sense of investment in the overall success of the community.
With Habitat, we get to roll up our sleeves and actually construct the home. Many of our employees devote their time and energy to these projects. It’s extraordinarily rewarding to work side by side with local families as their new homes take shape – and to see their joy when it’s time to move in.
Our mortgage practice and our work with Habitat are just two examples of ongoing efforts to help build the community. Over the past 85 years, Cinfed has grown and succeeded thanks to support from many great people in the community – and we’ve made it a practice to continually give back and share our success.
Whether we’re swinging a hammer or using a pen, our commitment comes through.
